For example, in caustic and acidic applications, including sulphuric and high chloride conditions, ASTM B668 UNS NO8028 SMLS TUBE provides excellent corrosion resistance. It can be used at high temperatures as well.

For instance, in hydrogen sulphide containing conditions within the oil and gas industry, Z1NCDU31-27-03 SMLS TUBES is commonly used. This is due to the excellent tolerance of the substance to sulphide cracking under conditions characterised by elevated hydrogen sulphide (H2S), carbon dioxide (CO2) and chloride levels (Cl-). Production tubing (OCTG) and heat exchangers used in refining sour crude are examples of applications.

In Sanicro 28, the mixture of molybdenum and nickel helps resist cracking caused by a polythionic acid attack during start-up and shut-down of the machinery. The grade is also used to decrease the symptoms of naphthenic acid degradation in oil refineries.

Originally, SANICRO 28 TUBE was designed for use in the manufacture of phosphoric acid, in particular in the concentration unit for heat exchangers where corrosive conditions are at their highest. ASTM B668 UNS NO8028 SMLS TUBE is much more resistant and more resistant than 904L to formic acid than traditional stainless steels of type AISI 316L. 1. Phosphoric acid

Currently, Z1NCDU31-27-03 SMLS TUBES is the most commonly used metallic element in the manufacture of phosphoric acid via the ‘wet’ process for evaporator tubes. There have been many units in service for more than 10 years now. Replaced by SANICRO 28 TUBE, the graphite heat exchangers also had recurring issues with damaged tubes and lack of output.

1. Sulphuric acid

ASTM B668 UNS NO8028 SMLS TUBE, especially at concentrations between 40 and 70 percent of deaerated acid and over 85 percent, is an effective material for piping and heat exchangers. Z1NCDU31-27-03 SMLS TUBES in condensed acid has about the same resistance as Alloy C (98 percent H2SO4).

1. Oil and gas

SANICRO 28 TUBE is used in deep, sour gas wells for making tubing, casings and liners. The substance is also recommended for corrosive-environment oil wells.
