Grade 316 is a standard molybdenum containing grade, and it is second important grade after 304 in the austenitic stainless steel family. 316 Stainless Steel Tube contains additional molybdenum and nickel than 304 stainless, which increases the corrosion resistance of the metal. The molybdenum content offers 316 overall corrosion resistance features. SS 316 Tubes are known for excellent tensile & material strength.

Stainless Steel 316 Welded Tubes also show resistance to oxidation. Continuous use of this grade is not recommended at temperature 425-860 °C. 316 SS Seamless Tubing contains additional molybdenum and nickel than 304 stainless, which increases the corrosion resistance of the metal. Stainless Steel Type 316 Tube is used in more aggressive environments than 304 tubes. Also it shows higher pitting & crevice corrosion resistance in chloride containing environments. It also has excellent forming as well as welding characters. tainless Steel 316 Tube is available as seamless, for pressure applications, and welded, for structural applications.This grade also shows amazing welding properties. Post weld annealing is not needed when welding it. 316 grades are also known as the marine grade SS but it is not resistant to sea water. In marine environments this grade exhibits surface corrosion which is visible as brown stains.
